Private coaching is arranged directly with the coach — schedule and rate are between the two of you. Ice time is still purchased through PHFSC at registration, so coordinate the times you want with your coach before registering, then sign up for the matching sessions through the club. - Reach out to a coach to coordinate lesson agreements, schedule, and goals.
- Coordinate which ice sessions will work for your skater and coach.
- When PHFSC registration opens, sign up for the agreed ice sessions through the club. Your lesson happens during the ice slot — book a longer slot than the lesson to leave room for solo practice.
- Pay each one separately: PHFSC for the ice slot, the coach per-lesson for instruction. They’re two different costs.
Before Alyssa began coaching she was an active ice captain in PHFSC for roughly 8 years, then began mentoring to become a Junior Coach. She was hired as a Junior Coach for 2 years before being hired as a Coach at PHFSC in 2013. Alyssa loves to choreograph artistic and light entertainment programs.
Sandy holds an Associate's Degree from SCCCC, a Bachelor's in Elementary Education from Oakland University, and a Master's in Early Childhood Education from Michigan State University.
Scott met his wife, Sandy, when he began skating as a teenager. He has also taught at Plymouth FSC, Fraser FSC, Sarnia FSC, and Pointe Edward FSC. Retired Art Teacher from PHASD (25 years), holding a Master's plus 30 and a Specialist Degree in Graphic Design and Painting. Along with Sandy, he has produced over 25 Ice Fantasies for the club. A 40-year alumnus of the University of Michigan, Scott and Sandy have been married for 41 years, have two sons, and twin granddaughters who skate with the club.
Along with Kim Kirkendall, Linda began the Synchronicity Synchronized Skating team and coached the teams with Kim for several years. She has coached in several clubs: Fraser FSC, Forest FSC, Sarnia FSC, Port Huron FSC and various off-season clubs. She has produced gold tests in Dance, Moves-in-the-field and free style. Linda is active as an adult skater and still enjoys adult dance events as an ice dancer.
Tracy is an Oakland University Figure Skating Club alumna (2012–2013, 2014–2016), with a Bachelor of Health Science (2016) and a minor in Psychology; Tracy also has earned her Masters of Health Administration from Central Michigan University. Currently Tracy is an Elementary Special Education Teacher. Before she began coaching she was an active ice captain with PHFSC for roughly 8 years, she than began mentoring and became a Junior Coach in 2011. She has been on the Port Huron Figure Skating Club Professional Coaching staff since 2013,
